TOKYO, Feb. 1 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks opened higher on Friday.
As of 9:15 a.m., the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average added 124.68 points, or 0.60 percent, from Thursday to 20,898.17.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, gained 4.73 points, or 0.30 percent, to 1,572.22.
