SINGAPORE, May 24 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks closed higher on Thursday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) up 0.93 percent or 32.65 points to close at 3,528.92.
A total of 1.53 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 1.16 billion Singapore dollars (about 862.1 million U.S. dollars). Gainers outnumbered losers by 206 to 177.
The STI index closed down 1.32 percent or 46.91 points to close at 3,496.27 Wednesday. Enditem
