BEIJING, March 4 (Xinhua) -- Premier Li Keqiang and other senior leaders on Sunday joined political advisors in their panel discussions, highlighting Party's leadership and Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era.
The other leaders included Li Zhanshu, Wang Yang, Wang Huning, Zhao Leji and Han Zheng, all members of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee.
Meeting with advisors from economic and agricultural sectors during the ongoing session of the 13th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), Premier Li highlighted the main task of this year, which is to maintain a favorable momentum of economic development, and stressed full implementation of the spirit of the 19th CPC National Congress and Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era.
Discussing with political advisors from the China National Democratic Construction Association and Jiu San Society, Li Zhanshu called on them to further enhance political consensus on key issues, willingly safeguard the authority and centralized, unified leadership of the CPC Central Committee with Xi Jinping at the core and follow Xi's thought.
Joining political advisors who are CPC members, Wang Yang stressed that the 19th CPC National Congress raised new and higher requirements for the CPPCC, and studying and implementing the congress' spirit should be a priority, saying that the CPPCC should always uphold the leadership of Party.
Wang Huning, joining political advisors from the circles of education, press and publication in a panel discussion, called on people to take deepening study, publicity and implementation of the spirit of the 19th CPC National Congress and Xi's thought as a major strategic task in the ideological work, and make efforts to turn the result into abilities to understand, study and resolve problems.
When joining a panel discussion with political advisors from Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions, Zhao Leji expressed the hope that the advisors could deepen study, publicity and implementation of the spirit of the 19th CPC National Congress, and called on them to fulfil their duties earnestly, give full play to their active roles and carry on the glorious tradition of loving motherland, Hong Kong and Macao.
Han Zheng joined political advisors from the Revolutionary Committee of the Chinese Kuomintang and the China Association for Promoting Democracy in a panel discussion, calling for efforts to prioritize the study of political theories, deepen study and implementation of Xi's thought and consolidate the common ideological and political foundation so as to further develop the system of CPC-led multiparty cooperation and political consultation.
