Hong Kong stocks close up by midday, tech index rises over 3 pct

HONG KONG, March 6 (Xinhua) -- Hong Kong stocks gained 468.56 points, or 1.85 percent, to close Friday's morning session at 25,789.90 points, with the tech index rising over 3 percent.

The Hang Seng Tech Index, which represents the 30 largest technology companies listed in Hong Kong, rose 3.70 percent by midday. ■
