HANOI, Jan. 13 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam's apartment prices rose by between 20 and 30 percent last year, with some areas recording increases exceeding 40 percent, local media VnExpress reported Tuesday, citing the Ministry of Construction.
The increase outpaced that of other property types, as villas and townhouses gained between 10 and 20 percent, while land plots rose 20 to 25 percent, said the report.
More than 579,700 property transactions were completed nationwide in 2025, up 7.7 percent from 2024, including about 138,000 apartment deals, an increase of roughly 10 percent.
On the primary market, apartment prices continued to climb in major cities, with Hanoi averaging about 100 million Vietnamese dong per square meter (about 3,900 U.S. dollars), up 40 percent from 2024, and Ho Chi Minh City at 111 million Vietnamese dong per square meter (about 4,400 U.S. dollars), a 23 percent rise, according to local daily Lao Dong. ■
