PHNOM PENH, Jan. 13 (Xinhua) -- Cambodia earned 603.6 million U.S. dollars in revenue from exports of natural rubber latex in 2025, down 9 percent from 663.8 million dollars in the year before, said an official report on Tuesday.
The report, compiled by the General Directorate of Rubber, showed that the country exported a total of 343,762 tons of the commodity last year, down 12.3 percent year on year.
However, domestic consumption of rubber latex recorded a significant increase of 146 percent to 124,231 tons last year, generating a gross revenue of 223 million dollars, the report said.
"A ton of rubber latex averagely cost 1,756 U.S. dollars in 2025, about 63 dollars higher than that of 2024," Khun Kakada, deputy director general of the General Directorate of Rubber, said in the report.
The Southeast Asian country exports the commodity mainly to Malaysia, Vietnam, Singapore and China.
Cambodia currently has planted rubber trees on a total area of 448,051 hectares, of which the trees on 346,842 hectares, or 77.4 percent, are old enough to be tapped, according to the report. ■
